This Custom Earpiece is the solution for Emergency Services, Security, Haz Mat, Guest Services and other applications where the wearer needs to retain their hearing of what is around them and at the same time be able to receive discreet communications from other workers or a dispatcher.
The earpiece itself is designed to attach to a hearing aid-type "button receiver" via a coiled tube. Skeleton earpieces are available in both custom and semi-custom varieties. The advantage of semi-custom skeleton earpieces is that no impression is required, they can be bought "off the shelf", they're less expensive, and don't require an impression.
If semi-custom skeletons fit, they work very well and are very comfortable. Unfortunately, everybody's ear is a different size and shape, so semi-custom earpieces can't fit perfectly, and they can range from very comfortable to uncomfortable. Semi-custom skeletons are available in small, medium and large for right and left ears.
Custom skeleton earpieces always fit perfectly; they are always comfortable for long periods. This is the ideal device for people who have to wear an earpiece all day or for long periods of time. An impression of the inside of your ear is required, and from that we manufacture a perfectly fitted earpiece out of lucite material.

Our custom earpieces always start with an impression. The impression is only the first step in the process of making a custom mold. These impressions are used to make a finished earmold. Generally it is best to order your impression kit and earmold at the same time; this way, we can fill out the order form for the custom mold and provide a prepaid return box. It also saves on shipping and handling because we will only charge you for this once if you order the earmold and impression kit together.
The impression allows us to guarantee fit and comfort. An impression is a silicone copy of the inside and helix areas of your ear. The earpiece you receive will be an exact fit to the shape of your ear.
The impression is made by first blocking your ear canal with a foam block. Next, a quick drying, non-sticking, hypo-allergenic, medical grade silicone material is injected into the ear. After about five minutes drying time, the impression is removed from your ear. The process is simple and painless.
If you are not confident you can do this yourself, many audiologists and hearing aid dealers will do this for you. Their charges range from $12 to $45.

Catamaran Custom Earplugs are great for many purposes. Designed for swimming, they provide 33 dB of outside noise separation. On a motorcycle, the wind noise all but disappears. Now you can get high-quality, custom-fitted Musicians' Earplugs without having to visit an audiologist.
Custom Earpiece has their earplugs manufactured to the highest standards. One unique feature is a custom seat for the filter within the plugs which we machine and mount. Other manufacturers skip this extra step and their customers often lose their filters.
Our plugs have a one year warranty for fit and against defects in material or workmanship. These high-quality soft vinyl earplugs come in their own padded protective case. The filters are manufactured by Etymotic Research and come in 9, 15, and 25 db attenuation versions.

IE100 Low Cost High Performance Custom Molded Monitoring Earset |

The soft shell IE100 packs great power and comfort into a small and inexpensive package. While the market has gone to more and bigger with the dual and triple drivers, this old stand-by is more comfortable and offers exceptional sound quality. Without the punch of additional drivers, you can expect good clear bass, but not exceptionally powerful bass.

The shells are custom molded and available in clear, tan or brown ears with black, tan, brown or clear faceplates and ComfortSeal soft ear canals for superior comfort and fit. One problem experienced by entertainers with unvented (unvented means the ear canals are completely plugged to provide superior isolation from ambient sound) monitoring sets is occlusion. Occlusion is the odd sound of your own voice when you are wearing ear plugs. There are two ways to eliminate occlusion. One way is to vent the ear canal, this eliminates the advantage of isolating you from ambient sound. The other way to eliminate occlusion and our preference, is to seal the second bend behind the ear canal.
The IE150s are a superb inexpensive choice for vocalists, guitar, keyboard, and horns. We recommend only dual or tri driver sets for drummers.
The IE250 is our dual driver set. These have been used extensively at Walt Disney World for their stage crew but this is no Mickey Mouse headset! In a mix magazine review, these were reported to have a very "nuetral palette" from which to mix.
